The Chemical Touch Lite Edition is a free periodic table for the chemistry student and people working with the elements. TCT Lite is the ideal periodic table for the user who enjoys colour-coded reference. Numerical data for mass, density, melting point, boiling point, radii and electronegativity for each element is indicated by colour codes tallied against a colour chart for a range of values.
I am no longer a student, but can imagine how an app like The Chemical Touch could be useful during my student days. Nevertheless, I have installed this app and use it in instances where reference is necessary, due to the nature of my hobbies and interests.
Available for the iPhone and iPod touch running on iOS 2.2.1 or later, The Chemical Touch Lite Edition is downloadable for free from the App Store.
A full version indicated by an Argon icon (see right, versus Neon for the Lite version above) costs USD0.99 and consists of a further wealth of information for each element, including specific heat and latent heat data, crystal structure, abundance, radioactivity and chemical structure.
Features:
- colour-coded for quick and easy reference
- detailed information on elements built-in
- free version is well-packed with data
